| Reverse description | The reverse displays a large, finely rendered laurel wreath occupying the central field, its branches tied at the base with a decorative bow or ribbon. Within the wreath, the word MANET appears in bold Roman capitals in the lower portion of the enclosed field. Above the wreath, a scrolled ribbon banner carries the opening words of the motto SOLA SPES MEA, completing the phrase 'My only hope remains.' The composition is symmetrical and emblematic in character, typical of Saxon memorial coinage of the late seventeenth century. A milled border encircles the design. |
