| Obverse description | Elaborate quartered coat of arms of the Archbishopric of Mainz and the personal arms of Lothair Francis von Schönborn, surmounted by an electoral hat (prince-elector's crown), flanked on either side by supporters consisting of a crozier and a sword draped with a banner. The mint mark 'B·I·B' appears below the shield in the lower field. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the arms, reading 'LOTHAR·FRANC·D·G·S·S·MOG·ARCHIEP·E·B·AC·P·E·B·S·K·I·P·G·', with the text interrupted by dots and running along the inner border of the beaded rim. |
