Reverse description Seated royal figure shown in a highly stylized and abstracted form, rendered in bold relief typical of Chola hammered coinage. The enthroned figure is depicted frontally, seated upon a throne or platform rendered with hatched horizontal lines suggesting a stepped seat. Surrounding the central figure are symbolic devices including a large solar or eye motif in the upper field, floral or vegetal elements, and additional royal or religious emblems in the field. The composition fills the flan entirely, consistent with the dense iconographic program of Chola Kahavanu fractions.
