| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace, as engraved by Jody Clark. The effigy occupies the central field against a deeply mirrored proof background. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH · II · DEI · GRA · REGINA · ALDERNEY · C.I., separated by raised dots, with the date 2021 positioned in the lower exergue. The engraver's initials JC are visible on the truncation of the bust. A fine inner dentilated border frames the design. |

Alderney holds a peculiar constitutional position — a dependency of the British Crown through the Bailiwick of Guernsey, but not part of the United Kingdom, giving it the right to issue its own commemorative coinage while remaining outside mainstream British monetary circulation. The 95th birthday issue appeared in 2021, the same year the Queen became the first British monarch to reach that age.
