| Opis awersu | Central field bears a stylized fish symbol, a traditional Mughal mint mark associated with the Banaras (Muhammadabad) mint. Surrounding the fish is a Persian legend arranged in circular fashion, largely running off the flan due to the small planchet size relative to the die. The inscription, in Naskh-style Arabic script, reads in part: 'Sikka zad bar haft kishwar saya fazl Ilah Hami ud-din Muhammad Shah Alam Badshah,' followed by the AH regnal date. The overall presentation is characteristic of late Mughal hammered coinage, with irregular flan edges and partially visible legends. |
