Aanvullende informatie

Adolf Fredrik's reign saw persistent tension between the crown and the ruling parliamentary factions — the Caps and the Hats — that effectively stripped the monarchy of meaningful executive power. By 1767, the king was so politically marginalized that he famously signed legislation by stamping documents with a seal reading "This is done against my will." The "small head" variety of this type reflects a mid-series die modification, distinguishing it from the earlier large-head strikes and making attribution a matter of die study rather than casual inspection.
