| Obverse description | Central field bearing a stylized cross pattée within a beaded inner circle, with the surrounding Latin legend reading + P DEI GRACIA REX. The lettering is characteristic of medieval Aragonese hammered coinage, with Gothic letterforms distributed around the periphery. The flan is irregular in shape, as is typical of hand-struck medieval issues, with uneven strike causing portions of the legend to be partially visible. |
