Reverse description A large numeral '8' occupies the center of the field, denoting the fractional denomination of one-eighth real, encircled by a raised inner ring. The fraction indicator '8°' and the legend 'DE REAL' appear within the central zone flanking the numeral. The circular outer legend ESTADO DE DURANGO arcs around the upper portion of the coin, while the date appears at the base within the border. Decorative star-shaped ornaments punctuate the legend at intervals. The overall design is bold and typographic in character, consistent with provincial Mexican copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century.
