正面描述	Central field features the denomination '1/8' flanked by a laurel wreath open at the top, with a small open book depicted within the lower wreath. The circular legend reads 'ESTADO LIBRE DE SAN LUIS POTOSI' around the periphery, with the date and '1/8 LEY' also present in the field. Note: weight varies by issue — (1829–1831) 4.5–5.5 g; (1859) 4–4.5 g.
