Additional information

Rajendra Vikrama was deposed in 1847 by Jung Bahadur Rana, the general whose coup effectively ended royal authority in Nepal for over a century, reducing the Shah kings to figureheads. Coins struck under Rajendra's name therefore span a reign that ended not by death but by forced abdication under armed pressure.

The 1/8 mohar fraction served the fine transactions of the hill trade economy, where Indian and Tibetan merchants both operated on small silver increments.
