Obverse description Central field features the heraldic shield of Arnhem — a divided coat of arms displaying a lion passant and diagonal stripes — set within a single pearled inner circle. The shield is rendered in a bold, late-medieval style typical of hammered Low Countries coinage. Surrounding the central device, a Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery within the beaded border. A small six-pointed star ornament appears as a stop in the upper portion of the legend.
