Obverse description The central field displays the quartered Royal Arms of Great Britain on an ornate shield surmounted by an imperial crown, supported by scrolling foliate mantling. The quarters depict the lions of England (first and fourth), the lion of Scotland (second), and the Irish harp (third), with a small inescutcheon at centre.
