| Obverse description | Crudely struck hammered field bearing bold Arabic calligraphic inscription in raised relief, characteristic of the small copper coinage struck at the Delhi mint under Emperor Akbar. The legend occupies the majority of the flan and is rendered in a loose, informal naskh-style script. The irregular planchet edge and slightly off-centre strike are typical of Mughal base-metal issues of this denomination. Scattered patination and surface corrosion are present across the field. |
