| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Haile Selassie I, depicted wearing an ornate imperial crown surmounted by a cross and richly embroidered ceremonial robes, with a cross pendant visible at the chest. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine portrait detail. Ge'ez legends appear to the left and right of the bust, with an additional inscription along the lower field beneath the portrait. |
