The Cessetani were an Iberian people centered around the region of Tarraco — later Tarragona — who began producing their own fractional bronze coinage under the broad influence of Roman administrative presence following the Second Punic War. This small fraction likely circulated alongside the larger unit issues of the same series, facilitating everyday exchange in a region increasingly drawn into Roman commercial networks without yet being absorbed into Roman coinage proper.

ACIP 1150 is catalogued among the rarer fractions of Iberian civic bronze.
