| Obverse description | Central field features two crossed wheat ears at left and an olive branch at right, their stems meeting at the lower centre where a small mint mark is visible. Above the crossed plants, the Turkish crescent-and-star emblem appears prominently in the upper field. The denomination '1.500 000 LIRA' and the date '1997' are inscribed in three lines across the centre of the field. The circular legend 'TURKIYE CUMHURIYETI' (Republic of Turkey) runs along the periphery in raised Latin lettering. |
