| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a balance scale rendered in bold relief, its beam suspended from an ornate finial at the top of the design. The mint initial 'T' (for Tellicherry) appears prominently below the scale pan, flanked on either side by stylised floral or grape cluster devices. The date '1805' is inscribed in large numerals in the lower field, completing a compact and functional design characteristic of Bombay Presidency coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
