Amatőrök Forgalmi Szövetkezete — loosely, the Amateurs' Trading Cooperative — was one of dozens of Budapest-based commercial associations that issued their own small-denomination scrip during the acute coin shortage that followed Hungary's post-war economic collapse and the territorial losses imposed by the 1920 Treaty of Trianon. The 1.5 Korona denomination is a telling detail: fractional and odd values like this appeared precisely because exact-change problems were crippling everyday retail transactions at a moment when the state had neither the metal nor the institutional stability to mint adequate coinage.
The Adamo MSZK catalog places this among Hungarian emergency private issues — szükségpénz — a collecting category that remains undervalued relative to its documentary interest. Rudtka's signature as Pénztárnok (cashier) and Temesváry's as managing director authenticate individual issues in lieu of any more sophisticated security apparatus.
