| Additional information |
The HA-200 Saeta was Spain's first domestically designed and manufactured jet aircraft, developed by Hispano Aviación in Seville during the late 1940s with significant technical assistance from German engineers — several of whom were former Messerschmitt personnel recruited after the war. The aircraft entered service with the Ejército del Aire in 1950 and remained in use as a trainer well into the 1970s.
This piece belongs to Spain's ongoing aviation commemorative series issued through the Real Casa de la Moneda. The 1.5 euro denomination has no circulation function; it exists purely as a collector issue outside the standard euro coinage framework authorized by the ECB.
