| 背面描述 | A dynamic depiction of a bobsled in motion occupies the central field, rendered at a diagonal to convey speed, with the athletes' helmets visible. In the left background, the Olympic cauldron bearing a stylized flame rises above a tiered stadium grandstand. The Pobjoy Mint mark 'PM' appears in the lower right field. The legend 'XIX WINTER OLYMPIAD · SALT LAKE CITY' arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination '1/5 CROWN' and the gold fineness 'Au. 999.9' are inscribed along the lower field. |

The Isle of Man has issued commemorative gold in fractional crown denominations since the 1970s, and by 2002 the Pobjoy Mint had refined the program into one of the more prolific Olympic commemorative series in modern numismatics — covering nearly every discipline across multiple Games. The Salt Lake City Winter Olympics were themselves overshadowed that year by a judging scandal in pairs figure skating that prompted the IOC to award duplicate gold medals, the first such ruling in Olympic history.
Pobjoy struck this piece in .9999 fine gold, a purity specification they favored over the more common .999 standard during this period.
