Struck by Pobjoy Mint on behalf of the Isle of Man, this issue commemorates the Queen Mother's centenary in 2000 — one of the more crowded numismatic moments of the early millennium, when multiple mints raced to produce Queen Mother memorabilia ahead of her actual birthday on August 4th. The Queen Mother ultimately lived another two years, to 101, which gave the "100th Birthday" framing an oddly premature quality in retrospect.
