| 背面描述 | Denomination numeral '48' displayed in large figures at centre, enclosed within an open laurel or palm wreath tied at the base, symbolising the coin's value as one forty-eighth of a Thaler. A continuous Latin circular legend surrounds the wreath, filling the outer field to the rim. The overall composition is simple and functional, consistent with small-denomination billon coinage of the Mecklenburg duchies. |

Gustav Adolph ruled Mecklenburg-Güstrow as the last duke of that line, dying in 1695 without a male heir — a dynastic failure that ultimately collapsed the Güstrow branch and triggered a prolonged succession dispute with Mecklenburg-Schwerin. These fractional billon pieces were struck in the final years of his reign, when the duchy's finances were already compromised by the lingering devastation of the Thirty Years' War and subsequent Swedish occupation. The territory never fully recovered its fiscal footing.
