August III's half-grosze of the early 1750s were minted in Leipzig — a Saxon facility, not a Polish one — reflecting the personal union between the Polish crown and the Wettin electorate that defined his reign. The Leipzig mint struck enormous quantities of these small silver pieces, and contemporary complaints about their debased quality were well-founded: successive issues through this period saw fineness quietly reduced while nominal value held steady.
Kopicki 11218 is among the more frequently encountered Leipzig varieties, though distinguishing it from closely related Kop#11219 and neighboring types requires attention to the specific mintmaster marks.
