Reverse description The reverse presents a five-line central inscription expressing the denomination, arranged hierarchically across the field. The numeral '48' appears prominently at the top, below which the Roman numeral 'I' is centred, followed by 'REICHS' on the third line, 'THLR' on the fourth, and the mintmaster's initials 'H.L.' (for Hand Luders) at the base. Two small rose ornaments flank the central inscription in the field, echoing the dynastic emblem of Lippe.
