正面描述 The obverse is entirely covered in bold Arabic calligraphic legends in the traditional Yemeni style, filling the field without a central pictorial device. A circular inner border encloses the accession date 1367 AH at the top within a crescent-like arc, surrounded by the royal titulature of Imam Ahmad ibn Yahya. The surrounding outer legend occupies the full field, bearing the Imam's honorific titles in raised relief. The overall composition is characteristic of Zaydi Imamate coinage, with text arranged in multiple registers across the coin's face.

附加信息

The Mutawakkilite Kingdom struck these fractional riyals under Imam Ahmad ibn Yahya, who ruled Yemen in near-total isolation — foreign advisors were rare, infrastructure minimal, and the monetary system deliberately insulated from outside influence. The large 'Sanaa' mint mark distinguishes this variety from related issues, with the additional 'Sana' inscription creating the classification split collectors rely on today. Ahmad's reign ended with his death in 1962, followed almost immediately by a coup that dissolved the Imamate entirely and plunged Yemen into civil war.
