Beschrijving keerzijde Plain, unadorned reverse with a large central circular perforation mirroring the obverse. The annular surface is essentially featureless, displaying only the natural texture of the cast bronze flan and a well-developed polychrome patina of green, brown, and grey tones consistent with prolonged burial. The flan edges are irregular and slightly chipped, typical of Warring States period cast bronze ring coins from the State of Chu.

Aanvullende informatie

The *yishaozhu* denomination is among the least understood in the Warring States bronze coinage system — the term *shao* indicating a fractional unit whose precise exchange relationship to the standard *zhu* weight remains debated among specialists. Chu coinage operated largely outside the bronze spade and knife currency systems favored by northern states, instead issuing cast cowrie-form and disc coins that circulated across a distinct southern monetary zone encompassing much of the Yangtze basin.
