| 正面描述 | Central device depicting a sacred Hamsa bird (the royal goose of Cambodian heraldry) rendered in high relief, shown in profile facing left with elaborate plumage and scaled body. Cambodia's 1847 coinage under Norodom I was struck during a period of intense geopolitical pressure, with the kingdom caught between Siamese dominance to the west and Vietnamese encroachment to the east. Norodom had not yet formally assumed the throne — his coronation came in 1860 — making this issue one produced under a reign still contested in practice. French protectorate status would follow in 1863, after which indigenous Cambodian silver coinage of this type effectively ceased.
