Obverse description Armored and crowned half-length effigy of Emperor Maximilian II facing right, holding a scepter in his right hand and wearing the collar and pendant of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The date 1573 is divided by the figure in the field. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with a small Bohemian lion shield at the base dividing the circumferential Latin legend. The mint mark appears at the terminus of the legend.
