Obverse description Right-facing laureate bust of Emperor Matthias II with ruffled lace collar and draped mantle, rendered in high relief in the hammered style. The effigy occupies the central field with strong portraiture detail typical of early seventeenth-century Bohemian coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading MATHIAS D G ROM IMP S A G H BO, abbreviating his full imperial and royal titles. The legend is set close to the coin's rim, with no inner border separating it from the field.
