| Additional information |
Joachim II Ernst and Bernhard VII ruled Anhalt jointly following the death of their father Johann IV in 1551, part of the fractured inheritance system that repeatedly divided the Anhalt territories among male heirs. This joint coinage reflects a brief window of co-rule before further dynastic partition; by 1570 the brothers had formally divided their holdings, making issues bearing both names a product of a narrow two-decade window.
