The shield displays the heraldic charges of the see of Salzburg alongside the personal arms of Archbishop Georg von Kuenburg. A Latin circular legend reads GEORGIVS D G AR EPS SALZ A S L, identifying the issuer as George, by the grace of God Archbishop of Salzburg, running clockwise around the periphery within a beaded border.
