| 表面の説明 | Facing bust of Duke Georg III with long flowing curled hair falling to both shoulders, wearing armour with decorative gorget visible at the neckline. The portrait is rendered in high relief within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Latin reads in full around the periphery, identifying the duke by his titles. |

Georg III ruled Liegnitz-Brieg jointly with his brothers Ludwig IV and Christian alongside the constant threat of Hohenzollern succession claims and Habsburg pressure to absorb the duchy entirely. He died in 1664, and this memorial quarter thaler was struck to mark his passing — a dynastic formality the Piast dukes of Silesia had practiced for generations. The R5 rarity rating in Kopicki is not incidental; Liegnitz-Brieg's mint output was modest, and memorial pieces in fractional denominations were struck in limited runs almost by definition.
