Reverse description The elaborate crowned coat of arms of the Electorate of Saxony occupies the central field, displaying the quartered Saxon electoral arms with the Kurschwerter (electoral swords) crossed diagonally across the shield, surmounted by an electoral bonnet and flanked by scrolling cartouche work. The mintmaster's initials I·K appear in the lower field on either side of the escutcheon. The date is incorporated into the encircling Latin legend, which denotes the elector's title as Archmarshal and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design.
