| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Ferdinand I facing left, wearing a broad-brimmed plumed cap, with a prominent beard rendered in fine engraved detail. The effigy displays a strong Renaissance portrait style with carefully delineated facial features and flowing hair visible beneath the cap. The Latin legend arcs around the upper and right field, recording the ruler's age as XLVII (47 years). The portrait occupies nearly the full flan in high relief, characteristic of Habsburger hammered coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |

| Reverse description | Seven lines of bold Roman capital letters filling the entire field, presenting the dedicatory inscription identifying Ferdinand I as King of Rome, Hungary, and Bohemia, along with the date 1549. The lettering is separated by cross and decorative stops, and the text reads as a commemorative legend rather than a traditional reverse type with central imagery. The simplicity of the all-text reverse, with its well-spaced monumental capitals, reflects the Renaissance medallic tradition applied to coinage of the Habsburg court. |
