| Beschrijving keerzijde | A cruciform cipher composed of four interlaced and entwined crowned Cs, the monogram of Christiane Charlotte, arranged symmetrically about a central point to form a cross. A large electoral or margravial crown surmounts the cipher at the top, while smaller crowns or coronets appear at the cardinal points flanking the monogram arms. The plain field emphasizes the elegant interlaced design, all within a toothed milled border. |

Christiane Charlotte of Württemberg-Winnental served as regent of Brandenburg-Ansbach following the death of her husband Wilhelm Friedrich in 1723, governing on behalf of her young son Carl Wilhelm Friedrich until he came of age. Regency coinage bearing a woman's name and authority was uncommon in the German states, and this quarter thaler is among the relatively few issues that document her administration in metal. The Ansbach mint was active but not prolific under her regency, making dated examples from any single year scarcer than the major thaler denominations might suggest.
