The shield incorporates the heraldic devices of Brunswick (two lions passant), Lüneburg (a lion rampant), and other dynastic quarters including a running horse and floral charges. A circular Latin legend surrounds the arms reading D.G.CAROLVS.DVX.BRUNSVIC&LVN with the date appearing at the lower right of the field. The execution is in the baroque engraving tradition typical of early eighteenth-century German principality coinage. |
