Obverse description Centrally displayed is a large crowned quartered coat of arms of the Teutonic Order, featuring the distinctive cross pattée of the Order prominently within the escutcheon. The complex arms are supported on either side by eagle supporters with spread wings. The royal crown surmounts the shield, and the entire composition is rendered in high relief typical of late 18th-century Germanic medallic art. The encircling legend runs along the periphery of the coin in Latin abbreviations denoting the titles of Charles Alexander of Lorraine.
