| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of Elector Charles Albert of Bavaria facing right, wearing a flowing full-bottomed wig with voluminous curls rendered in high relief, the truncation showing pauldron and gorget details. The effigy is portrayed in the Baroque courtly tradition, with fine engraving highlighting the drapery folds at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading D:G·C:ALB·&·C:PHILL·ELECT·PROV·&VICARII, identifying the ruler by the grace of God as Elector and Vicar of the Empire. The field is smooth and slightly concave, framed by a beaded inner border and a milled outer rim. |
