Obverse description Armored bust of Elector August I facing right, depicted with a short beard and crowned head, the sword of office borne over the right shoulder. The effigy is rendered within a beaded inner circle, with the electoral title legend surrounding in Latin characters. The portrait displays typical mid-16th century German Renaissance die-cutting style, with detailed rendering of the armor's gorget and pauldron.
