| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a large, elaborately quartered heraldic shield displaying the arms of the County of Oldenburg and associated territories, the individual quarters bearing lions, bars, and other charges rendered in the Germanic hammered style of the early seventeenth century. The shield is surmounted by an ornate crowned helmet with elaborate mantling. A circular Latin legend surrounds the composition, separated from the central device by a beaded inner border, identifying the issuing count Anton Günther of Oldenburg and Delmenhorst. |
