Reverse description Crowned heraldic shield bearing the nine-fold quartered arms of the Duchy of Lorraine, incorporating the arms of Lorraine, Bar, Jerusalem, Anjou, Guelders, Jülich, and further dynastic quarters, surmounted by a ducal crown of ornate design. The circular Latin legend MONETA · NOVA · NANCEII · CVSA · 1665 surrounds the shield, attesting to its striking at the Nancy mint. The date appears integrated within the legend. A toothed inner border frames the reverse field, consistent with the milled production technique of the Nancy mint.
