| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central shield bearing the crowned Dutch lion rampant, holding a sword and bundle of arrows, set within a quartered escutcheon representing the States General arms. The shield is surmounted by a large royal crown with cross finial. The denomination is expressed in the field to either side of the shield, with '1/4' to the left and 'ST.' to the right. The entire design is surrounded by a continuous beaded border. Two varieties are recorded for this type. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse bears a bold three-line inscription in large raised capital letters reading 'NEDERL INDIE' across the centre of the field, with the mint year '1826' below and the mintmaster's mark 'S' at the very base. A small five-pointed star ornament appears at the top of the field above the legend. The design is enclosed within a beaded border, giving the coin a clean, typographic appearance characteristic of Dutch colonial coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
