| Beschrijving keerzijde | A long double cross with fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm dominates the field, dividing the reverse into four quadrants. The civic arms of Groningen are depicted on a shield at the center intersection of the cross. A Latin devotional legend, interspersed with pellet stops, encircles the design within a beaded border, with the date appearing as part of the legend. The composition is typical of late medieval and early modern Low Countries municipal coinage, with the cross motif serving both religious and heraldic functions. The irregular flan edges reflect the hammered production technique common to this issue. |
