| Aanvullende informatie |
Charles Theodore inherited Jülich-Berg in 1742 through the Palatine-Sulzbach line, but spent the bulk of his energies on his Bavarian inheritance after 1777, leaving the Rhineland duchies as something of an afterthought in administrative terms. Small copper fractions like this one circulated in a region increasingly squeezed between French revolutionary pressure and the fragmented loyalties of the Holy Roman Empire's western marches. Jülich-Berg would be annexed by France in 1806.
