| 正面描述 | Central field displays the heraldic eagle of Dortmund displayed with wings raised and spread, its breast rendered in detailed feathering, set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrollwork flanking both sides. A small open crown is positioned above the eagle's head. The coin border features a rope or cable pattern rim encircling the entire design. No legend appears on this face, the civic arms serving as the sole device. |

Dortmund's status as a Free Imperial City gave it the right to strike its own coinage, a privilege it exercised with diminishing economic relevance through the mid-eighteenth century. By the 1750s the city's independent monetary authority was largely symbolic — Dortmund had long since ceased to matter as a commercial power, and these small copper issues circulated in a regional economy that barely acknowledged the distinction between municipal and territorial coin.
