| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the St. Edward's Crown (Coronation Crown), engraved by Jody Clark, with the initials JC visible below the portrait. A two-line circular legend surrounds the bust, with the sovereign's titles in Latin along the outer ring and a quotation from the Coronation oath forming the inner inscription. The year of issue and issuing territory appear within the legend. |

Alderney's legal status as a Crown dependency outside both the UK and the European Union gives its issuing authority — the States of Alderney — the right to produce legal tender coinage, though these pieces are struck by the Royal Mint under contract and circulate nowhere in practice. The Platinum Jubilee series to which this quarter sovereign belongs marked Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne, the longest reign of any British monarch and the only British jubilee of its kind ever celebrated.
Elizabeth II died on 8 September 2022, just months after this piece was struck.
