| 正面描述 | Uncrowned effigy of King Charles III facing left, rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail, occupying the central field. The circumferential legend reads CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · F · D · GIBRALTAR, with the date 2024 positioned in the lower exergual area. The portrait, modelled by Raphael David Maklouf, presents the King bare-headed with a close-cropped hairstyle, the legend separated by ornamental dots. A fine milled border frames the design. |

Gibraltar has issued gold coinage under Royal Mint licensing arrangements for decades, largely targeting the bullion and collector market rather than any genuine monetary circulation. The quarter sovereign denomination itself was revived by the Royal Mint in 2009 after an absence of nearly 170 years, and Gibraltar's adoption of the format follows that precedent closely. Benedetto Pistrucci's St George design, first cut in 1817, remains unmodified on current issues — an unusually long run for any die design in active production.
