| Reverse description | The reverse bears Benedetto Pistrucci's celebrated and enduring depiction of Saint George, helmeted and semi-draped, mounted on a rearing horse and thrusting a broken lance downward into a writhing dragon beneath the horse's hooves. The composition, first introduced on the sovereign in 1817, fills the field with vigorous neoclassical energy, the rider's cloak billowing dramatically behind him. The date 2026 appears in the exergue in bold numerals, with Pistrucci's monogram BP positioned to the lower right of the main design. The scene is contained within the coin's reeded border, with no additional legend on the reverse. |
