Obverse description Within a beaded border, the interlaced crowned monogram 'CE' (Carolus Emanuel) occupies the central field, surmounted by a ducal crown rendered in relief. A small mintmark appears below the monogram, between the two letters. The overall design is typical of hammered billon coinage of the Duchy of Savoy, with an irregular flan and no surrounding legend.
