Reverse description A cross with trefoil terminations at each arm is set within a quatrefoil frame composed of four lobed arcs, the whole occupying the full field of the flan. Small pellets or ornaments appear in the angles between the arms of the cross and the lobes of the quatrefoil. A mintmark letter appears below the cross on some varieties. The composition is bold and architectural, typical of late-Renaissance Savoyard small coinage.
